The Big Idea
Matthew meticulously constructs his Gospel to prove that Jesus is the rightful King of the Jews and the climax of Israel's history. Through his genealogy, birth, baptism, and early ministry, Jesus introduces a kingdom built on God's character rather than human power. He humbles himself in baptism, fulfills all righteousness, heals diseases and afflictions, and invites everyone into a transformed relationship with God.
